This page was made using two Scrappin' Gold papers and two Scrappin' Gold embellishments. The Traditional background is "Finally Spring", the butterfly and trim were taken from the Portrait paper "Paper Butterflies". The trim consists of three separate layers. The Back layer is a reverse of the paper gradient (just a shade darker), the middle layer was cut out of Paper Butterflies, and the top layer is the Scrappin' Gold Lace Ribbon. Holes were punched through the 2nd and 3rd layers to allow the background to show through the eyelets. The butterfly cutout consists of two layers, the bottom layer was expanded several pixels and filled with color taken from the top layer's pattern. Scrappin' Gold paperclips were used on the trim and image.

Many of the papers on this site have similar patterns and color schemes so that you can mix and match papers, cut them up into interesting shapes and superimpose them on a base page. Use your imagination and you will find that you can create interesting and novel combinations that will make your scrapbook pages uniquely your own.

You will notice some of the pages already have wide ribbons or cutouts added to them. Although these papers can be used as they are, they are included as inspiration and examples of ways to use the papers and embellishments you find on this site. As you can see in the example included here, I like to add

the ribbons and cutouts myself so that I can place pictures beneath them, move them around to balance out the page or remove them if I decide they just don't add to the page. I hope that you are using a program that has the capability of placing each item on its own layer. You have so much more control over your project with layers.
